Medical Financial Assistance

The following organizations can provide financial assistance for medical emergencies or support for ongoing medical care for your pet.

ARF – Animal Rescue Foundation

ARF’s Emergency Medical Fund® (EMF) provides low cost non-emergency veterinary care to qualified low-income residents of Contra Costa County, California at ARF’s clinic. See eligibility requirements.

UAN – United Animal Nations

UAN’s LifeLine Fund provides financial assistance to pet owners and rescuers for emergency vertinary care for up to $300 for animals that would otherwise not be treated. See their eligibility requirements. See UAN’s list of national organizations.

CareCredit

CareCredit can be used for both routine check-ups and for emergency or unplanned care.

Pet Insurance

Consider purchasing insurance for your cat. For a reasonable monthly fee, most veterinary expenses are covered with reasonable co-pays or deductibles. Options include: HealthyPaws, Pet Plan, Trupanion, Embrace, Pet First, Pet Best, etc.

Paws in Need (Tri-Valley)

Some vets are willing to set up monthly payment plans for larger vet bills– check around and ask yours if they are willing to do this.
